Forage and feast

Join us for an incredible day foraging at Australia’s only certified biodynamic, organic truffle farm. Crisp air, rich soil and, of course, intoxicating truffle normally reserved for Sydney’s best restaurants.

FORAGE

Our paddock isn’t huge, but it is real. 

As Australia’s only certified biodynamic and organic truffle farm, we are proud of our uniquely scruffy paddock. 

Wombat holes, wild grass and winter flowers make for a true foraging adventure.

FEAST

We will share the truffle classics we’ve learnt to love as a family.

At the conclusion of each hunt we head to the fire pit, where our table is laden with a rich and indulgent winter feast. 

Featuring organic produce from the veggie patch, our farmhouse is vegetarian and our feast will be too. 

FAMILY 

As a family run farm, we want to create space for everyone to join in. 

Our forage, feast and family hunts feature more relaxed food, with plenty of kid friendly options. 

Our kids will be there, yours are welcome too! 

our day Arrives

We gather close by the flickering fire, crisp winter biting at our heels. Billy, the truffle dog, bounds with infectious excitement.

We start with a slice of rustic apple tart, flaking pastry and caramelised apples from the Elvesgate orchard, heavy with warm, silky truffle crème anglaise.

Gael, our intrepid guide, shares her stories of the mysterious world of soil and fungi and the black truffle, and we venture into fields.

Billy is eager, smells the truffle and waits. We kneel, our noses searching. Yet the truffle, a perfect sphere of black is not yet ripe, a promise for the next deep frost.

At the next tree, and the next, anticipation hangs heavy in the air. There, covered slightly, hidden by the earth… we nearly trip… then uncover a treasure trove of perfection. 

Our hunt is over, the time for feasting has come.

Brie oozes, brimming with jet black truffle. Homemade baguettes come out of the oven to be slathered with luscious butter, laced with ribbons of truffle.

Sweet nutty chestnuts are blended in a rich velvet soup with luxurious truffle cream.

A brilliant, very decadent truffled Mac ‘n Cheese follows  finished with wafers of pure fresh truffle.

And to conclude, smooth truffle ice cream, with crisp shards of hazelnut meringue.
